Homemade Calzone Pizza

Why did the calzone break up with the pizza? It couldn’t handle the "slice" of life!
Ingrédients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 tsp) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Préparation
In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut into circles or rectangles.
In one half, spread ricotta, mozzarella, and pepperoni. Fold over the dough and seal the edges.
Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
